Importing and Opening Files

You can import a number of 3D and 2D file formats in Composer. You can also open native Composer (*.smg, *.smgXml, *.smgGeom, *.Geom, *.smgProj) or Sync (*.seeb, *.smgSeeb) files.

Import and Open Files

You can import various file formats, as well as open native Composer files from the Open dialog box.

  1. Click File > Open .

  2. In the Open dialog box, select the file to import or open and click Open.

Open Files from Windows Explorer

You can open native Composer (*.smg, *.smgXml, *.smgGeom, *.Geom, *.smgProj) or Sync (*.seeb, *.smgSeeb) files directly from Windows Explorer.

  1. From Windows Explorer, right-click a Composer or Sync file.

  2. In the context menu that appears, select an option.

    Option Description
    Open
    • Opens the document in a new window if no session of Composer is already running.
    • Opens the document in the already-opened Composer window if a session is already running.
    Open in new Window Opens the document in a new window (that is, a new session of Composer).
    Play in Composer Player Opens the document in Player.

    Note: If several versions of Composer, Sync or Player are installed, the latest version is used.
